Systems Integration
Enspiria believes Systems Integration (SI) encompasses:
- Integration - sharing data or enabling different systems to work together.
- Implementation - ensuring that projects are completed successfully with skills in project management, systems engineering, software development, test engineering.
Enspiria's system integration clients include: AGL Resources, Anaheim Public Utilities, CPS Energy, E.ON, Port of Portland, Southern Company, NV Energy and Westar Energy.
Project success is not a given. Approximately 80% of projects fail to meet their objectives. In addition, ~30% of projects are cancelled and ~50% exceed their original cost estimates. Successful implementation of Smart Grid (AMI, MDMS, DR, DMS and DA) solutions have more challenges than a typical utility project. These projects require utilities to follow a rigorous systems implementation and integration process due to the:
- Inherent complex technology behind Smart Grid
- Lack of depth in many vendors' project services
- Integration across other enterprise IT systems
How is Enspiria's SI Different?
Enspiria's staff is comprised of both integration and implementation experts, specifically devoted to the utility environment. We believe that we bring a unique capability not offered by others.
Technology providers have devoted their skill and energy into their technology. Large SI firms are typically broad but not very deep.
Utility SI staffs are often not familiar with the technology, overstretched, and need experienced help.
